How much could you save with reverse osmosis?
If your family buys bottled water or refills jugs, an RO system usually pays for itself. Move the slider and see how fast.
You could save about
$0 /year
Estimate based on half a gallon of drinking water per person a day, one store trip a week ($2 gas), filters at about $70–110 a year, and tap water for the RO.
Why reverse osmosis?
Reverse osmosis pushes water through a membrane with pores small enough to hold back most dissolved minerals, salts and other contaminants, then polishes it through carbon filters. It's one of the most thorough ways to filter drinking water at home.
Water that tastes like bottled water
RO systems take out most of what affects taste, including the chlorine or chloramine taste many people notice in city water. Coffee, tea and ice taste cleaner too.
Fewer contaminants
RO reduces total dissolved solids (TDS), and depending on the system and its certifications, it can also reduce things like lead, arsenic, fluoride, nitrates and PFAS. Check a system's NSF/ANSI certifications for the specific contaminants it's tested for. The iSpring RCC7 we install is certified to NSF/ANSI 58 for TDS reduction.
No more hauling water home
No cases in the cart, no jugs in the trunk, no running out on a Sunday night. Filtered water is always there at its own faucet, and with a tank system we can run it to your fridge and ice maker too.
Less plastic
A family that drinks bottled water goes through thousands of single-use bottles a year. An RO faucet replaces all of them.
